A Happy Night

Written by Jason Raitz on 11:14 PM

A couple of days after the fire...Tracie and I were at the house and we were trying to figure out if anything was worth keeping. One of her friends showed up and convinced us that she needed to take a couple of the kids stuffed animals, a blankie or two and a couple of clothes.

We weren't hopeful. But, she scrubbed them by hand and then washed them with a special detergent 5 times. Well, tonight we got them back. We opened the bag and no soot smell. Tracie handed a couple of stuffed animals to the kids and a blankie to Zach and you would of thought we handed them a $1000.

It was a happy night.

Then...a moment of sadness. You see...Bobby is our biggest blankie lover. He loved these two little torn up blankies. Well, I searched for them, but couldn't find them in the house. It was a sad moment and then Zach told Bobby that he would share his blankie...another happy moment.

Hi...I'm Jason. I love to talk about Youth Ministry, Teaching, the Church, my family and oh yeah...the greatest hitter of all time...Ted Williams. And even though I work for Willow Creek Church, everything here is my personal opinion and nothing more.
